The Scoop on Highway 34 Work in 2010
Here's the scoop, the whole scoop, and all the scoop that's out there. There won't be any actual road work in Sybille Canyon, on Highway 34, the summer of 2010. You might see some WYDOT folks out and about, with flouresent sticks and fancy rulers, but no tearing up of the highway will happen this summer.

Steve Cook is the Resident Engineer on this phase of the work, and he knows the area and the residents well, from his work on Hwy. 34 in previous years. The bid, he says, will go out in August. Right now, the WYDOT crew is out showing landowners what they're proposing, and doing estimates and evaluations on the work to be done.

They won't be re-routing traffic around on Hwy. 12 either, once the actual construction on Hwy. 34 starts. It's just too long a way around...and as we all know, it's bumpy and gravelly and not fun to drive on.

WYDOT will make as little an impact on Sybille Canyon Game and Fish as possible. They're not even going to touch the historical post office that's down there on the Wheatland side of Game and Fish.

Enjoy the curves and weaves of Highway 34 thru Sybille Canyon while you can...next year it'll messy and the year after (or so) it'll be a whole new drive.
